What is in the file

  • First licensed in the last 90 days: 284 homes
  • Pending application (a status, no date): 924 homes
  • State visit in the last 30 days: 1,517 homes
  • Complaint dated in the last 90 days with substantiated allegations: 389 homes
• OperatorsOne row per licensee that is an organization: number of homes, total beds, counties and statuses. 5,199 rows.
• Data dictionaryOne row per column: what it means and which state column it comes from.

What the dates mean

• First licensed: the date CDSS first licensed this license number. A change of owner can get a new license number, so this date can be newer than the home.
• Last state visit: the newest visit date in the CDSS record (inspection, complaint or other visit).
• Complaint date: the date on the CDSS complaint record. The file does not have the date the state substantiated it.
• Unknown: the state record has no value. We never fill a missing value with zero.

Where does the data come from?

Built from the California Department of Social Services statewide list. CDSS describes its site information as public domain unless marked. This file uses the state list dated Oct 18, 2026, with state visits and citations since Nov 2020.

How do updates work?

We build a new file on the first business day of each month. Your link gives the newest file while your subscription is active.

What is not in the file?

Staff names or emails. Licensee names of people. Other states. Websites. Map coordinates.

How do I cancel?

Use the customer portal link on your welcome page, or email us. Your link works until the end of the paid period.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Ask within 7 days of payment and we refund the full amount.
